I'm very pleased to introduce my symbolic Lockdown collection. It is no coincidence that today - 1 year after the lockdown started - I’m placing this collection for sale on my webshop. During this period, the ceramic studios were forced to close indefinitely, which led me to be creative to find a way to do my passion. I had the luck to set up a small studio at home, and with the little space that I had, I made my own creative place and tried to get lost in the process and the material that I'm so passionate about. I chose for a slow process, and I applied all the techniques that have crossed my path in the past six years; from hand-building to wheel throwing, with different types of clay and techniques. This was the start of making my Lockdown collection.
This collection has been influenced by the workshop “Couleur d’argile”, with Juana Maillot (@juana.m.colorceramic), which I attended at Atelier Aimée. Back to basics - working with colours and structure in the clay. No glaze was needed to bring out the beauty of the earthen source in the clay. It's a process that takes a lot of manual work to get the pieces to this final stage, but when you see the results it’s more than worth it.
I hope you like the collection, and maybe you feel connected to one or more pieces in my webshop.
